    “Electrifying rural Africa”

    FONDEM has just released a book on rural electrification in Africa that they edited and published : "Electrifying rural Africa, an economic challenge, a human imperative". This work, available online free of charge (fondem.ong/electrifier-lafrique-rurale/), aims at drawing lessons from 50 years of rural electrification with renewable energies in Africa, and to provide actionable recommendations for different types of stakeholders (governments, donors, private sector, NGOs, etc.).

    Scoping rural electrification activities in Central African Republic

    Enabel is working on the set-up of a new 18 mio EUR programme to be funded by the EU Trust Fund Bekou in Centrafrican Republic. This Fund focuses on 3 components : vocational training for agriculture, energy access, and micro-finance. Enabel asked MARGE to carry out a scoping mission to identify the key intervention priorities for the energy component and synergies with the other components.
